The company’s activity started in Genoa in 1885 as a consultancy and services company in the naval field.
Thanks to its professionality, quickness and flexibility, in a short time the company developed thus becoming a reliable support for the most important shipping companies.
At the end of the Second World War, Luigi Amico grasped the deep changes occuring in this field and was one of the first companies to introduce new working tecniques and advanced installations: in the 60’s the company realized the free jet sandblasting process at 12 bar and the first self-propelled platform in Italy; in the 70’s Luigi Amico S.r.l. produced the first totally automatized floating pontoons for sandblasting and in the 80’s the tankcoating equipment and the autonomous butterworth units.
